Cold-rolled sheets are produced from hot-rolled coils at room temperature below the recrystallization temperature. They’re widely used in automobile manufacturing and electrical products, etc. Cold rolling occurs below the recrystallization temperature but is generally associated with the rolling of materials at room temperature.
Production process
1. As there is no heating during production, common defects in hot rolling, such as pock marks and oxidized scales, are absent, resulting in a good surface quality and high finish. Cold-rolled products also exhibit high dimensional accuracy, and their performance and structure meet specific requirements such as electromagnetic properties and deep-drawing capabilities.
2. Specifications: Minimum thickness of 0.2-4mm, width of 600-2000mm, steel sheet length of 1200-6000mm.
3. Grades: Q195a-q235a, q195af-q235af, q295a(b)-q345 a(b); spcc, spcd, spce, st12-15; dc01-06
4. Performance: Primarily using low-carbon steel grades, requiring excellent cold bending and welding performance, as well as certain stamping capabilities.
Application areas
Cold-rolled thin steel sheets is commonly referred to as cold-rolled sheet or simply cold sheet, and is sometimes mistakenly written. It is made from hot-rolled steel strips of ordinary carbon structural steel, further cold-rolled to produce steel sheets with a thickness of less than 4mm. Because the rolling process occurs at room temperature, no oxidized scale is produced. As a result, cold sheets have excellent surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. Additionally, after annealing treatment, their mechanical and processing properties surpass those of hot-rolled thin steel sheets. In various fields, particularly in the home appliance manufacturing sector, cold-rolled sheets are gradually replacing hot-rolled ones.
